Your sailing adventure begins in Oban, often referred to as the "Gateway to the Isles." This bustling harbour town on Scotland’s west coast is a perfect starting point for your journey, with its lively atmosphere and stunning views across the Firth of Lorn.
The first leg of your voyage takes you northward along the Sound of Mull, a scenic strait that separates the Isle of Mull from the mainland. As you navigate these waters, the lush, green hills of Mull rise dramatically.
Leaving Mull, you chart a course northwest toward the Small Isles, a charming archipelago consisting of Eigg, Rum, Muck, and Canna. Each island has its unique character and attractions, making them ideal for island hopping.
Voyaging around the Isle of Skye, often referred to as the "Misty Isle," you are immediately immersed in a world of dramatic cliffs, jagged peaks, and expansive lochs.
This stretch of water is known for its rich marine life, with dolphins, seals, and even minke whales often making appearances.
We will explore and anchor, and as we glide closer to shore, you are treated to a panoramic view of the Cuillin mountain range, its dark, brooding peaks looming over the island like ancient sentinels.
As your sailing tour nears its end, you make your way towards Mallaig, a charming fishing port on the west coast of the Scottish mainland complete with train station to get you home after enjoying the very best of world famous Scottish scenery.
With every trip at XP at Sea you will receive advice and bespoke coaching that takes your own personal understanding of sailing and cruising to a new level. Build up real-world experience whilst enjoying an adventure of a lifetime.
